Tell me about yourself, what is your role and how long have you been working at Catalogic?
“I’m a Senior Solutions Architect and have been with the company approaching 2 years. My role entails architecting, implementing and supporting Catalogic’s Data Protection and Copy Data Management products across EMEA. I also work closely with some of our technology partners including IBM, NetApp and Prolion.
My key goal is to always ensure the customer experience delivered via Catalogic’s products, consultancy and support is unparalleled. I’m proud to say the solutions we implement typically exceed customers’ expectations. Our feedback and NetPromotor score, of consistently over 80 for our support team, shows this and tells you a lot about the team here at Catalogic.”
How did you first learn about Catalogic?
“Good question. I first came across Catalogic in 2014 when the announcement was made that Catalogic was being formed out of the Data Protection business of Syncsort. In my previous role working for a data protection focused MSP and solution provider, I became aware of Catalogic and worked with some of the team, including our COO Sathya Sankaran and Sales Director for EMEA Richard Wallace.
On reviewing, I quickly understood the value and potential of ECX and DPX, providing modernized copy data management and data protection solutions. When I heard a role was available, I jumped at the chance to join.”
How has Catalogic helped you in your career development?
“Catalogic has helped me develop my career in many ways. It’s the first vendor I have worked for after working for 2 data protection and storage MSPs for over 10 years. The people here helped me hit the ground running. During the onboarding, they immediately made me feel welcomed and it was clear that everyone’s ideas and views were listened to. If you ever want to catch up or need some assistance, the team here is always on hand to help. I have also learned a lot about how a software vendor functions, including development processes, sprints, QA and how products evolve. I’m still learning every day, which is key to keeping the grey matter moving and my career developing.”
What are 3 words to describe Catalogic?
Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
“A couple of islands in Tahiti – Moorea and Bora Bora. I was lucky enough to visit these two beautiful islands with my wife on our honeymoon, after a quick stop off on the way in Las Vegas.
The scenery, waters, culture, people and food made me fall in love with the islands. We also were lucky enough to spend an evening on a remote island for a meal and entertainment. This was the very same island where Bill Gates spent his 50th birthday. The owners even proudly showed us the guest book he had signed and got us to sign it too. Both islands were examples of a little bit of paradise on earth, I highly recommend visiting if you ever get the opportunity.”
What hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
“Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and I’m a keen sporting enthusiast, following many sports. My favourites include Horse Racing, F1, MotoGP, Speedway and Football.”
